NGC6888 from the Scottish Dark Sky Observatory

OK, so not the best image of the Crescent nebula ever taken but given that the moon was almost full, not so bad either!

The significance of this image is that I believe that it is the first deep sky image taken from the site of the new Scottish Dark Sky Observatory, which I had the privilege of designing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDhsJIBXyKk

The observatory will offer space for amateur astronomers to come and set up their own equipment and to observe and image the night sky from a truly dark site whilst enjoying the toilet  and kitchen facilities in the observatory.

The image is an hours worth of H-alpha taken through the SDSO's 100mm ED refractor.
