A Black Eyed Galaxy
One of the classic "Spring galaxies", located 19 million light years distant in the constellation of Coma Berenices, the Black Eye galaxy has the designation M64. It has a contra-rotating dusty outer ring which gives it the black eye appearance, probably the result of a merger with another galaxy.
