.....Well almost; this image was taken On Sunday 30th January. Opposition actually occurred the previous evening. However, this is about as large a disk as Mars will present for quite a while. The image was taken with the nearly full moon close bye, so the colour saturation has suffered a bit, and the seeing conditions were less than ideal. However, Syrtis Major is clearly visible, as are some high level clouds on the limb.
