Mars

Mars is now a prominant site in the early morning sky, hanging just below the sickle of Leo. Whilst it is shining at magnitude -0.34, it is still quite a small disk (11 arc seconds) in the telescope eyepiece. These two images are the first of hopefully many that I intend to take over the coming weeks, as the disk gradually grows to 15 arc seconds by January.
